Challenge to all my blog readers to help support the purchase of the Domino’s strip mall so the Franklin community can re-build the cotton gin

I’ve been blogging here for over six years now. Thousands of people follow my blog, around the world. I want to challenge everyone who loves the Franklin story (read Why Franklin Matters) to make a donation toward the reclamation of the land where the original Carter cotton gin once sat, which is now a soon-to-be-demolished Domino’s Pizza strip mall.

Our community is so close to being able to celebrate this incredible achievement of acquiring this property. A recent $200,000 donation by a local businessman has edged us ever so close.

I encourage everyone to make a donation (or at least a pledge) today. Let’s all dig deep and take this goal over the top so we can demolish this strip mall.  Even if you can’t afford to give today, make a pledge to give $100 or $1,000 over a couple months or even a year!

Read The Judas Field (Howard Bahr) for an amazing description of the Battle of Franklin and the importance of the Cotton Gin in that battle.
